  • Last Event Race for '07 This Weekend!!

This weekend marks our last event race of the 2007 season and it's gonna be a big one! Mill Creek is hosting the 30th annual Good Times National and FCA will be there in full force. Our giveaway this weekend will be MP3 players! As usual we will randomely draw from racers in each moto and award a winner. We will also be on hand to "lend a hand" whenever possible. Our purpose for being there is not to give stuff away, but to meet peoples needs. That means if there is anything we can feasably do for anyone, we'll do it.

This is a required race for team members and we hope to see each of you there!
  • FCAmx Goggle Day @ Monster

This is our first race event of the fall this weekend (September 15-16) at Monster Mountain in Tallassee Alabama. We will be giving away 20 something pair of Scott goggles, in addition to offereing an all day cleaning service and free tear off's until we run out.

Saturday night (weather permitting) we will be showing a movie up by the concession area. Chris Long is providing the means for us to do this and we really appreciate it. This is something we are going to try and do more often to get folks to come hang out with us. Sunday Morning, Andre will be bringing the message at MX Church and then it will be racing and goggles the rest of the day!

Don't forget this is a required event for Team riders. We look forward to seeing everyone there!!

  • Tire Race @ Corner MX!!

This Saturday's race at Corner MX Park ( 5/12/2007) has been designated as an FCAmx Tire Race. FCA racers and staff will be on hand all day to handle your tire needs. Need air? Got a flat? Come by and we'll help you out. We'll be giving away tires of all sizes. We'll try and arrange the class structure where everyone has a shot at winning a tire. We will also have lots of tubes on hand. So, come by the tent and hang out watch some tires get changed. Talk about the racing, FCA, Corner and whatever else strikes you. We look forward to seeing all of you this weekend.
  • Goggle Race at Estes this weekend!

After a Fantastic retreat weekend at the home of Gabe and Suzette Davie, Team FCAmx is holding our semi-annual Goggle Race at Estes MX this Saturday. As in previous goggle events,  we will be giving away approximately 20 pair of Scott 89Xi  goggles to random place finishers in each moto. We will also offer a  goggle cleaning service and will be loading goggles (Scott goggles) with free tear offs for as long as they last.

Come on by our pit area and say hi, get your goggles cleaned and maybe even win a new pair! See you there!
  • Team FCAmx AL Rider Application

The 2007 race year is now upon us.  Team FCAmx AL is now accepting rider resumes.  There will be 15 slots open for riders to fill.  If you or your rider is interested in being part of Team FCAmx Alabama for the year 2007 check out the resume form in the 'files' area of this web-site.  Here's a link to the 'files' page. http://fcamxalabama.com/files/default.aspx  Download that file, fill it out, and email it to FCAmxAL@aol.com

We look forward to the 2007 racing year and working with the new team.  All of the info about the team benefits and requirements are found in the resume form.  Please understand that this is real commitment to the Lord, not just an opportunity to get a cool graphics package.

  • Chase Borders Pit Bike Raffle

FCAmx Alabama, in cooperation with Yamaha Motor Corp, Four Seasons Yamaha in Tupelo, and the Southern Classic ArenaCross Championship is raffling off a New Yamaha TTR 125. Below is from Ricky's post on JMR.

FCAmx Alabama will be raffling off a Yamaha TTR 125 at the Tupelo, MS arenacross on December 30th.

We will be there set up with a tent and all, showing a Chase Borders slide show we hope. We'll sell tickets on Friday and Saturday. The drawing will be held half way through the night program on Saturday. Tickets will be $5 each. Must be present to win.

How many places you ever been where you can win a pit bike for $5???? Someone will leave with a brand new Yamaha TTR 125 on Saturday night.

We hope to see you there!
  • Next FCAmx Event: Deer Run MX

Our next FCAmx Alabama Team event will be the last team race for the 2006 team.  We hope to see you all out there representing Team FCAmx Alabama.  We'll be at Deer Run MX on November 18th.  The function for this race will be "bike wash".  We hope the weather cooperates.  We've got a 500 gallon water wagon that the Melton's have graciously agreed to fill for us.  We plan on providing the equipment, cleaning solution and labor to wash any and every bike brought to us that day.  We are looking forward to seeing each of you there.

  • Our Next Event Race is the Four Stroke National!

We have finalized our plans for the next FCA Event Race, scheduled for October 29 at Mill Creek, for the newly named AMA Pro/Am Motocross Championship (formerly called the 4 Stroke Nationals or Thundercross). This will be "Tire Day" and the FCAmx team will be there supporting racers with all aspects of the tires on their bikes. We'll check pressures, change flats, mount tires and to top it off, give away 15 brand new Dunlop 756 rear tires. As before, we will give away multiple sizes based on bike size so we don't leave anyone out. The tires wil be given away to racers registered for races that day and names will be pulled randomly from select classes. You don't have to win the race, be top three or even pull the holeshot to be eligible to win! And the best thing is - it's all free! Come and join us for a great day of fellowship. Kevin Cozadd of MXer's for Jesus is scheduled to speak in chapel Sunday before the races. And since this an AMA Pro race mixed in with the SCC series race, there should be a lot of fast guys there to watch! See you there!
  • Ride Day @ Monster This Weekend

We have just gotten word that Shae bentley was hospitalized earlier this week and most likely will not be able to ride this weekend. Andre spoke with him and as of now, he is still planning on attending but not riding. We appreciate his commitment to us and wish him a speedy recovery. Like all of you, we were looking forward to watching him ride along with Ezra....maybe we can convince him to come again when he's healthy!!

    See Ya'll Saturday
  • Goggle Race a Success!

What a great day of racing and fellowship @ Corner this past weekend. The Corner crew did a great job and FCAmx gave away a box full of Scott Goggles. For me, the most fun actually happened Friday night when the team got together and cooked out hot dogs and just hung out. It made the whole weekend better! For those of you that missed it, we'll try again soon.

Congrats to all that won the goggles (it was a randrom drawing from the finishers in the first motos). I'll try and post the list of winners here. Thanks to everyone involved!

  • Chase Borders Injured

Sunday, May 28 -- I just recieved a call from Andre that Chase Borders was seriously injured while riding at Monster Mountain yesterday. Chase endoed over the big downhill jump (the downhill before the tunnel jump behind the starting gate) and landed extremely hard with his bike chasing after him. I don't have all the details but the most serious injury is a broken C5 vertebrae. He was brought to Birmingham (we think UAB) for surgery.

The doctors are not confident that Chase will regain use of his arms and legs. The injury was high in his neck and the break was severe. Please lift Chase and Johnny up in your prayers. This is a very difficult time and frankly, they need a miracle. Pray for an extra measure of grace for them both, as well as God's healing hand on Chase. Thos eof you that know them personally, I'm sure they would appreciate any support you can give.

I'll keep you updated as I learn more.

  • Goggle Race, Mill Creek, May 21st

    Hello all,

This week is our last of 4 spring race events. As you may remember, this is Goggle Day. We have 25 sets of Scott 89Xi goggles, plus lenses and tear offs for this weeks event. That means we should have a set to give away EACH moto (assuming there are no more than 25 Motos)! Additionally, NorthPark Baptist, one of our sponsors, will be on hand giving out free Ice Cream. NorthPark is also the primary sponsor for the goggles. (In case you're wondering, I'm singling them out because they asked for a specific race to sponsor. That way church members could get involved -- our other sponsors contributed to the team fund). The "Chill Mobile" will also be at Corner on Saturday giving out free Ice Cream.

This is the last of the required events for the spring. The 4 fall dates have yet to be set. As soon as we know all of the race dates, we'll figure it out. However, in the interim, Mill Creek has asked that we (Team FCAmx) be the hospitality crew for the Loretta's regional on June 16-18. I'm asking now, that all of you who have not qualified to run the Southeast Regional, set aside some time that weekend to come help out. There will be a LOT of people there and a LOT of opportunity for ministry (by that I mean helping people - that's what we do!). You'll get to watch a lot of great racing and help others.

Dale Hop, the national FCAmx Director will be here for the race Sunday. Make sure each of you introduces yourselves to him and identify yourself as a Team member. Also try and make Ricky and I look good (I didn't say good looking). Hang around as much as possible, and help out. It is going to be very crowded - it could be as much as 500 riders. We haven't been very consistent on this in past races, but the 50cc entry guys cut the track at Mill Creek. I'd like everyone who can to be out on the track helping to point these little guys in the right direction and cheering them on.

Church starts at 7:30, Try to be there by 7:20. If Mrs. Love is available, we are going to attempt a team picture again (the rain messed us up at Monster) Bring your bib to church.....that sounds funny......
Those of you who don't have your graphics yet, I'll have them with me.

We'll also be giving out Team FCAmx T-shirts.

Oh yeah -- watch the fcamxalabama web site. You guys can win a set of goggles!

Let me know your plans. See ya soon.

P.S. - No goggle question today.
  • A Little Rain Never Hurt Anybody!

Photos are up from Sunday's race at Monster Mountain. Sunday was the third of four "Race Events" for Team FCAmx Alabama. We gave away 12 sets of Pro Taper SE bars, several sets of levers, and grips and sold a bunch of T Shirts! Tony and Andre delivered a great message on our new covenant relationship with God.

Church happened in the rain but racin' was in the dry. After a big scare of bad weather, the day turned out just about perfect. Good preachin' and good racin' that's Team FCAmx!

  • Raise the Roof Rally

FCAmx Alabama attended the "Raise the Roof Rally" at Oak Grove High School tonight.  Most of our riders were out of town or live too far to travel.  We were also on short notice.  Those in attendance were Steve and Alex Young, Cameron Otwell, and Ricky Allen.  We had a great time and unveiled our new Team FCA graphics.   Cameron and mine were shipped early for the event.  They had a quartet, several drama teams, and a praise band.  We were given a time slot to speak and took the opportunity to roll a bike up on stage and speak a little about what we do and why we do it. The event was a huge success and I hope we can be a part of it next time it comes around.
