    FCAmx Alabama, Rider Clinic

OK folks, here it is.  We've been planning for some time now what, how, and when to have a rider clinic.  We're still not sure we're ready but we've set a date and have a tentative guideline we will try and adhere to.  All the proceeds from this rider clinic will go to the Borders family.

Initially, we were planning to have this to help build our budget but more pressing matters have risen.  Our calling as FCAmx has been, and will continue to be "Serving Him, by Serving Others."  We may have some costs that have to be covered with some of the entries but all of the profits will benefit Chase Borders.

Presently, we plan to have four areas of instruction, 1.) Riding Technique, 2.) Bike Maintenance (2 and 4 stk), 3.) Rider Fitness/Training, and 4.) Spiritual Teaching.  The clinic will consist of two days, Saturday July 8th and Sunday July 9th.  The first day will be instruction and practice.  All areas will be hands on.  Saturday night we hope to provide some sort of entertainment.  Sunday will consist of a short refresher of each topic with some demonstration followed by free riding time after lunch.

There will be some meals provided.  More on that later.

The cost for the clinic will be $100 per rider.  The goal in the price is to bring out as many individuals as we can. All ages and skill levels are welcome.

Please spread the word on this clinic.  We need as many people as possible to attend.  We plan on splitting the entries into 4 groups, mostly by age and skill level.  We will keep the big bikes and little bikes separate for the most part.

For those interested please respond to fcamxal@aol.com for reservations.  Thank you all for your support.

Good luck guys!  It is a lot of fun but, it really takes a team effort!  You really have to have 100% participation.   I enjoyed it so much and I know that we reached a lot of children and their parents.

Sounds like a great plan! I'm in.

I need all of the instruction I can get, in all areas. Big Smile [:D]

Unfortunately, I write you today to announce that we will be postponing the FCA rider clinic due to lack of interest.  I have had about three people outside of FCA that have expressed interest in attending the clinic.  I wish we could proceed but there just isn’t enough participation to warrant the time and expenditure required to put on this event.  I hope we can get it rescheduled for later in the year.  I really look forward to having this format presented.  I think we can all learn something new from it.

    Rick,

I am sorry to hear that.  One of the things that made our clinic successful was that we had a specific clinic for kids.  85cc and under 2 strokes and 150 and under 4 strokes.  We made it for riders of all skill levels and divided them up.  We had somewhere around 60 kids!  The other thing was that we found a track that really helped us out as far as expenses.  The other thing that we did was keep the price down to $50 to gain a lot of attention.  Now that all of these kids have seen what a good job we can do we will probably charge a little more.

Several factors played against us on this clinic.  We announced it late because we were undecided on a date.  There was another clinic the week before within 1 hour of ours with similar pricing.  We will have the clinic.  It will just be at another time.
